MEET THE BAND MEMBERS:

Ralph Evans:
Ralph Evans:
Lead Guitar & Vocals: Ralph is Cardiff born and bred. He started playing guitar at the age of 15 and has now perfected a great technique, which embraces a range of different styles, from country to hard rock. Ralph has been playing in bands all his adult life and is perhaps best known as a founder member of the band ‘Sassafras’, which achieved fame in the 1970s and performed regularly at well-known rock venues such as: the ‘Roundhouse’ and the ‘Marquee’ in London as well as Liverpool’s famous ‘Cavern Club’. Sassafras also recorded 5 albums: ‘Wheelin ’n’ Dealin’, ‘Over the Rainbow’, ‘Riding High’, ‘Expecting Company’ and a live album ‘Sassafras Live at St. David's Hall, which was also a video DVD. As well as being featured on national radio and TV, which included performances on ‘The Old Grey Whistle Test’ and ‘The John Peel Show’, Sassafras also toured successfully in the USA with ‘Fleetwood Mac’ and the ‘Peter Frampton Band’ during the 'Rumours' and 'Frampton comes alive' tour.
Hollie Willis: Lead Singer
As well as being a great singer, Hollie is also an all-round musician. She loved making music from a very early age and has played the piano ever since. Incredible though it may seem, she wrote her first song at the age of 6, being inspired by the sad passing of her grandfather. She actually named this song ‘The Hollie Song’ and quickly learned ‘to tune her emotions into music’. As a young student she has also won first prizes in Eisteddfodau and other prestigious competitions. Hollie has more recently started to produce and experiment with other aspects of music and sound processing, such as electronic production. The outcomes of this work have been given exposure in venues as far afield as Dubai by a top ranked club DJ. Her love of performing for an audience has blossomed over the last year and has opened the door to her singing R&B and soul classics as well as timeless hits that have inspired her to rediscover the music that was popular during her youth, that of her parents and beyond.

Malc Charnley: Vocals, Guitar & Keyboards
Malc Charnley: Vocals, Guitar & Keyboards
Malc is originally from Wigan but is now a ‘born again’ Welshman having moved to Cardiff in 1984. He first performed live in front of a ‘paying audience’ at the age of 12 in a band called ‘The Others’. Over the years he has performed extensively in a number of bands including: Living Soul, Winter’s Tale, Uncle Sam’s Magic Bus and, in recent years, a vocal harmony group ‘The Treacles’. His main claim to fame is that he has performed in bands on the same bill as ‘The Who’, ‘The Hollies’, and ‘Vanity Fayre’ as well as ‘Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band’ and ‘Johnny Johnson & The Bandwagon’. He has also performed on seven separate occasions at the internationally famous ‘Cavern Club’ in Liverpool in the late 1960s and early 1970s and at the Wigan Casino, which became known world-wide as the main venue for the ‘Northern Soul’ movement. There are actually three bricks in the ‘Wall of Fame’ at the Cavern Club commemorating the bands that Malc has performed with in this iconic venue.
